Welcome to 2017 and the newly revamped Call Ajaire! ย It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but things have been rolling along behind the scenes. ย January was spent (finally!) moving Call Ajaire from Blogger over to WordPress and though I’ll be tweaking things over the next few weeks, I’m super happy with the results. ย Another focus for me in January was getting my sewing studio back into some sort of order after the chaos that is every November/December and theย “Santa’s workshop” madness, hehe. ย Today I’m going to share with you a peek behind the scenes so you can see a bit of what my studio looks like and I have a big giveaway at the end to celebrate new beginnings andย the relief of even a tiny bit of organization in this chaotic world!
Over on Project Run & Playย I am sharingย all about my favorite wayย I stay organized in my studio. ย Here I’m going to give you a little more of an insight as to just howย chaotic some of this “organization” is. ย I have big plans for this room this spring and I’ll be sure to share when things are finished, but to be honest, this chaos works for me.
You guys, I share this space with my cat, Oz. ย Yes, I have a cat that is so anxious that if he’s left to wander our entire (relatively modest sized) home he freaks out so he lives in my studio and the adjacent laundry room area. ย I assure you he’s completely content with this arrangement and for the most part so am I….. except…. he has long, silky, kitten-like fur. ย That means it sticks to EVERYTHING so I have to vacuum constantly. ย That’s not the worst part though. ย Ugh, he hasย occasional hairballs which means the carpet is always needing stain treatments. ย One big positive about this space is that my husband and I had the forethought to make sure the studio had carpet TILES which can be easily replaced or removed for stain cleanup. ย I envisioned the off-chance of a flood (which we’ve had!) and needing to remove tiles for drying and clean up, but never did I imagine it’d be most used for hairball duty. ย Either way, carpet tiles are the way to go!
I really love my studio – cat and all. ย Even if there isn’t a single bit of natural lighting, it’s great to have a dedicated space where I can create and I’m endlessly grateful. ย Now that it’s cleaned up and before I start to tackle the rest of the organization (that overflowing to the point of exploding stash alcove!) I’m going to celebrate the big wordpress move, my clean studio, and the launch of the Designs by Call Ajaire shop right here on the callajaire site by having a giveaway!
Enter to win a Brother P-Touch (if you go over to the Project Run & Play post you can see how I use mine!) OR the entire Designs by Call Ajaire PDF pattern collection! ย I will pick two winners from the rafflecopter below, one for each of the prizes. ย The P-Touch needs to be mailed to an address in the USA so if you don’t have an applicable address then you’ll be disqualified for that prize, but the PDF collection is open to anyone with an email address. ย All you have to do is subscribe to the new Call Ajaire Newsletter and use the Rafflecopter below to enter. ย Good luck!

You have a beautiful kitty. And the space looks pretty nice too. :p
Indu
It looks pretty organized to me! I looove your photo studio setup!
Ajaire
Thanks Indu! It’s basically pitch dark in that room with NO natural light so the additional lighting is necessary just to get me back to zero ๐
