Alley Cat Daydream – MMUp Details and Features

It’s the last Thursday of September so it’s time for some features from the MMUp link-up and a few more details about the Alley Cat Daydream dress.

But first here’s a fun mashUp that was linked up this month from Kimmie So Crazy!

She was a fellow tester of the Alley Cat Romper and she made her girl a couple of super cute rompers that you should hop over to see.  I really love the shape of the high low skirt on this one though!

Bean’s Alley Cat Daydream dress used the lovely Sprinkles (or Jimmies) cotton jersey fabric from Kitschy Coo for the bodice and a fun waffle textured light-weight woven fabric from JoAnn Fabrics for the skirt.  With the texture of the skirt fabric, the dress has a real ice cream cone feel to it, which is fun.

Since the white fabric was a little thin, I used two layers so it wouldn’t be see-through. I sewed them together at the bottom edge before attaching the ruffle, but gathered them separately at the bodice to give even more poof to the waistline.  The effect is lovely.

Especially when she spins!

If you’d like to sew your own Alley Cat Daydream MashUp, you can purchase the Lil Luxe Collection’s Alley Cat Romper here (*affiliate link) and See Kate Sew’s Daydream Ruffle Dress here and be sure to Pin this post for these mash-a-long links:

Thursday 9/4: Introduce the patterns and open the giveaway (giveaway ends on 9/17 at midnight EST)
Thursday 9/11: Reveal the MashUp, alter the patterns, and open the link up (open until 9/24 at midnight EST)
Thursday 9/18: Begin sewing the MashUp with the Giveaway winner announced on Facebook and Instagram
Thursday 9/25: Share the details of the MashUp and features from the link up

I’m participating in a MashUp blog hop with some awesome bloggers so hop on over:

I'm really excited about this one! The Verdant Wi I'm really excited about this one! The Verdant Windbreaker is ready for testing! This 90's-esque 1/4 zip windbreaker has options for a fully lined or basic unlined pullover. Views A and B have three zippered pockets, including the center pocket which can work as a stuff sack for the windbreaker like all the cool kids had back in the 1900s 😆 Views C and D are more of a pullover sweatshirt/fleece style without the extra bells and whistles, but all of the vibes.
My outerwear is sized 12m to 16 years and the size chart is in the form below.
Testing will begin on Monday, the 11th of September and will end on Saturday, the 23rd of September, with a fit test (muslin or just the lining) due by Saturday, the 16th of September.

She asked for plain black this year, so we compromised with some of the black and white crosshatch I used for the lining sprinkled around the outside. 😍😍

The black is Cuddle C3 minky from Shannon Fabrics and it’s so soft. I used sf101 interfacing to keep the pieces from stretching out too much with wear. There’s some Decovil light on the main panels for structure too.

The crosshatch is sailcloth canvas that I had in my stash from Little Cocalico and it’s such a great fabric for bag linings.

Pattern is the Little Lizard Kind Vada backpack, which is what I used last year and she specifically requested it for this year too.
