Fresh Bloom Frock

The Fresh Bloom Frock was a spring dress pattern I had been eagerly anticipating from Blank Slate Patterns (affiliate link).

Melissa had been looking for one more look to complete her spring collection so she opened a linky to let her readers suggest a particular style.  This is her interpretation of the dress suggested by Frances Suzanne.

When I had the chance to test the pattern I was thrilled.  This was one of the easiest testing experiences.  Either it was chance, or Melly has really got the knack for releasing these patterns.

I love that little pop of green in the button tab on the collar. It looks so springy with the pink!

The bodice is fully lined, there are pockets, and of course that collar which is a great feature.

I was hoping this could be Bean’s Easter dress, but it looks like it may be too chilly here still.

I guess that’s why I made the “Every” Occasion Little Bow Pleat, hehe.

(I should mention that I have recently added an affiliate link for Blank Slate Patterns on my sidebar as well as in some of the links in this post, but I sewed using their patterns long before even considering it. These are just great patterns that I truly stand by and I am excited about being an affiliate.)

So sweet!! Glad to hear it was an *easy experience* as well. We had thought we'd hold off making it until the nieces are older, but you and Michelle are pushing us to go on and sew one up :).

We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge last weeke We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge last weekend! We avoided crowds, wore masks everywhere, and got take out from town instead of eating buffet (😬😬) We were a little nervous, but the hotel itself was doing a great job managing things in a safe manner and we were more impressed than we expected, even though we spent the majority of the time alone together in our room πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
It’s amazing what a change of scenery can do for your spirit and the girls LOVED being able to spend the time away from school and work distractions πŸ’•πŸ’•

I've always loved making. At an early age I started cross stitching and sewing and I taught myself to knit and crochet during college. When our seven year old daughter Bean was born I was filled with all sorts of inspiration, so now I find ways to manage my crafty time and treasure those moments. Though sewing is what I'm most passionate about these days, there's something about the portability of yarn crafts and embroidery that keeps drawing me back in.
