The Diamondback Cami & Crop PDF pattern is for a fitted camisole top with a front shelf bra or a cropped sports bra, both with a fun cut out detail in back. The back can be made with the same stretchy material as the front, but when using a contrast stretch mesh fabric, the crossed over section forms a diamond shape that lends a dramatic flare.
The cami sits above the hip, with a slight flare from the waist. The crop sits above the natural waist and has a band with elastic to hold the bottom edge in place. Both views use fold-over elastic at the edges to add a pop of color or contrast as well as a clean finish. Speaking of clean finishes, the insides of the crop and cami chest have soft finishes that won’t irritate the skin, plus they look great.
Drafted for knit fabric with at least 50% four-way stretch, the cami and crop work well in fabrics from cotton/lycra, to athletic knits, to swim. That’s right! You can use this pattern for a cute bikini top or tankini without any modifications.
